Unwrapping of Foliage in Paris
During Paris Design Week, STEPEVI unveiled Foliage, its latest rug design, through an immersive installation. Our Boulevard Raspail showroom was transformed into an emballé environment, drawing inspiration from the iconic Le Pont Neuf emballé by Christo and Jeanne-Claude reimagining how rugs could be seen, revealed, and experienced.
Conceived by Carolina Nisivoccia, Milanese architect and long-time STEPEVI collaborator, the installation unwrapped Foliage and revealed a tapestry of textures, organic patterns, and layered compositions that flowed in instinctive harmony. Inspired by the geometry of leaves, the design transformed nature’s subtle architecture into elegant linear forms, uncovering hidden order through every material, texture, and shade.
The design captured the honest beauty and understated grace of nature, with a tactile surface of wool and viscose that came alive under light and touch.
